Transform the mediocre. The project brief was to 'retro fit' a poor quality 1960's bungalow set in a generous garden. The reconfigured house exploits the views of the surrounding countryside. A new envelope incorporates a barrel vault roof, very high standards of insulation, rain water recovery and solar panels. The project is an exemplar for the refitting of our existing housing stock to make our homes more sustainable.
